What is Errin Birth Control Pills?

How to Use Errin

Errin birth control it’s super easy to use.

Simply take one pill every day, at the same time each day. You take a pill every day. There are no sugar/placebo pills with Errin or other POPs (Progesterone Only Pills).

It is important to know that this medication requires that you take them at the SAME TIME every day. If you are late by 3 hours, you will need Emergency Contraception (if you had heterosexual intercourse[sex] in the past 5 days) and to abstain from sex for the next 48 hrs.

Errin Side Effects

The risks of side effects are very low, but some women have experienced side effects when taking Norethindrone. Minor ones include irregular periods, acne, breast tenderness, headaches, nausea, cysts on your ovaries, and changes in sex drive (up or down). These side effects are most likely during the 1st few months and generally improve over time and should stop within a few months.

WILL ERRIN CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN?

Some women may experience weight gain when taking Errin, and other birth control pills. While there’s a chance that the hormones can give you the munchies, it’s mostly water retention (and not actual fat).

WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD I BE AWARE OF WITH ERRIN ?

Every prescription comes with a tiny risk of allergies, including with Errin. The symptoms are usually mild and include: rashes, itching, dizziness. A severe allergic reaction would be: trouble breathing, and swollen lips, throat, or tongue. If this happens, call 911! Depending on your medical history, hormone-based birth control may not be for you. It’s important to discuss your medical history with your physician or one of our helpful Pandia Health Patient Care Advisors before you get started on Errin, especially if you’ve health problems such as cancer, heart disease, blood clots, uncontrolled diabetes, or high blood pressure.

WHAT SHOULD I AVOID WHILE TAKING ERRIN PILL?

As with any new prescription, you should go over anything you’re already taking with your doctor or Pandia Health Care Advisor before starting on Errin. This includes recreational drugs, over-the-counter meds, and even herbal supplements. Even something that seems relatively harmless such as St. John’s wort can cause Errin to be less effective at preventing pregnancy. There are certain meds you should absolutely bring up. These are aromatase inhibitors, cancer, HIV, seizure, and chronic hepatitis C medications.

HOW MUCH IS ERRIN WITHOUT INSURANCE?

If you choose to pay out-of-pocket, Errin is pretty affordable because it’s a generic brand ($25 per pack, when buying 3 packs at a time).
