Epiduo Forte gel is a topical medication used to treat acne. It contains two active ingredients, adapalene (0.3%) and benzoyl peroxide (2.5%). Adapalene is a retinoid that reduces inflammation associated with acne and Benzoyl Peroxide kills the bacteria and helps slough off dead skin cells. Epiduo Forte helps to reduce the risk of developing acne scars. Read More
Before applying Epiduo Forte, wash your face with warm water, a gentle cleanser or mild soap and pat dry. Apply a thin layer (about a pea-sized amount) of the medication to the affected areas by acne once daily, preferably in the evening. Avoid getting Epiduo Forte on your eyes, lips, and nostrils. Rub it gently until it is absorbed into the skin. Wash your hands immediately after applying the topical gel.

Epiduo Forte contains a combination of two active ingredients – adapalene and benzoyl peroxide – which work together to reduce inflammation, kill the bacteria that cause acne, and prevent new breakouts from forming. With regular use, Epiduo Forte can improve the texture and appearance of the skin, reducing the number and severity of pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads and thus reducing the chances of acne scars.
Yes, Epiduo Forte is a retinoid. Adapalene, one of the active ingredients in Epiduo Forte, is a type of retinoid that works by regulating the growth of skin cells, reducing inflammation, and preventing the formation of comedones, which are the precursors to pimples. The other active ingredient in Epiduo Forte, benzoyl peroxide, is not a retinoid but is used to kill bacteria that cause acne.
Epiduo is generally considered to be stronger than Differin, as it contains two active ingredients (adapalene and benzoyl peroxide) that target multiple factors that contribute to acne, while Differin only contains adapalene. Differin is often used as a first-line treatment for mild to moderate acne, while Epiduo is typically reserved for more severe cases.
The time it takes for Epiduo Forte to work varies depending on the severity of the acne and other factors such as skin type, age, and overall health. In general, it may take up to 12 weeks of consistent use before seeing significant improvement in acne symptoms. However, some patients may see improvement much sooner, within the first few weeks of use. It is important to use Epiduo Forte as prescribed and to follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to achieve the best results.
