How to use Yuvafem

Always follow your prescriber instructions on how to use Yuvafem. Consistent use of Yuvafem is necessary to maximize its benefits.

It is crucial to follow the prescribed treatment regimen and not to increase the dosage or use the medication improperly for an extended period. Doing so not only fails to improve the condition but also increases the risk of adverse effects.

Here is a guide on how to use or apply the medication:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the Yuvafem vaginal tablet and applicator.
  • Remove the Yuvafem tablet from its blister pack.
  • Lie on your back with your knees bent or stand with one foot on a chair or step.
  • Do not take the tablet out of the applicator. If the tablet comes out of the applicator when you open it, carefully put it back in. If the tablet falls out of the applicator when you try to insert it, throw it away and use a new applicator and tablet.
  • Gently insert the Yuvafem tablet into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go using the applicator provided.
  • Push the plunger of the applicator to release the tablet into the vagina.
  • Remove the applicator and discard it in a safe manner.
  • Wash your hands again after use

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for Yuvafem to dissolve?

Yyuvafem typically dissolves within a few minutes after insertion. If you are noticing that it is taking a long time to dissolve you could dab a little water onto the tablet just prior to insertion to speed the dissolution.

What is the difference between generic estradiol, Vagifem, Yuvafem, and Imvexxy?

All four medications contain estradiol as the active ingredient, which is used to alleviate symptoms associated with menopause. Generic estradiol vaginal cream, Vagifem, and Yuvafem are prescribed for treating vaginal dryness, thinning, and irritation caused by menopause. On the other hand, Imvexxy is indicated for the management of moderate-to-severe painful sex, a symptom resulting from vaginal dryness and tissue thinning due to menopause.
