What is Larin 1/20 Birth Control Pills?

Larin 1/20 is a combination oral contraceptive pill (OCP, birth control medication, birth control pills) that prevents pregnancy by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation), and thickening the cervical mucus, blocking sperm from getting into the uterus and getting to the egg. Larin 1/20 is also prescribed to: treat acne, reduce the risk of ovarian cysts (as in polycystic ovarian syndrome [PCOS]), treat painful or heavy periods, and more. Read More

How to use Larin 1/20

Larin 1/20 is super easy to use.

Simply take one pill every day, at the same time each day. Many women find that taking Larin 1/20 before bedtime or just after their evening meal reduces nausea and other side effects. After taking 21 days of active pills, you’ll switch to seven sugar pills (placebo pills).

These are inactive pills with no hormones that are there to keep you in the habit of taking your pill every day.

Larin 1/20 Dosage

Larin 1/20 uses a combination of two hormones estrogen (Ethinyl Estradiol, 0.02 mg) and progestin (Norgestimate Acetate 1mg) to make your body think it’s pregnant so a real pregnancy won’t happen.

Benefits of Larin 1/20

Larin 1/20 Side Effects

The risks are very low, but some women have experienced unwanted side effects when taking Larin 1/20.

Minor ones include breast tenderness, headaches, nausea, and slightly elevated blood pressure or blood sugar levels. Positive side effects are also a possibility, too — reduced acne, lighter bleeds, and fewer mood swings are fairly common.
The chances of serious side effects are extremely unlikely, but some cases have been documented, such as blood clots in the head (a severe new headache, causing double vision, or stroke), blood clots in the chest causing severe shortness of breath, blood clots in the abdomen (causing abdominal pain), blood clots in the leg causing leg swelling and pain.

These may sound scary, but remember — they’re very rare.
